What is VR ?

And how can it be used in the classroom?

Virtual reality uses video and audio to create an immersive environment for the user to interact with. Through the use of 360 degree photography creators can allow users to view an entire space similar to the way a person would view it in real life. When using a VR head set the video display has a greater quality of depth adding to the sensation that user is in the actual space. The addition of audio can allow creators to add another level of immersion.

This project makes use of Google's Tour Creator platform to create a virtual field trip on Langston Hughes. The final product can be viewed using a web browser or smartphone application. The video to the right  will walk through the creation of the VR Tour in this project.

To take the tour yourself go to the bottom of the page and explore the tour in its browser form.
